The region

The region of Ourem is now part of the wine-growing region of Lisbon, characterized by a wavy but gentle landscape and an equally mild climate due to the proximity of the Serra d 'Aire.

It is a privileged region for its location: near Fatima, 10 km from the A1, near Leiria and Tomar, 7 km from IC9, hotel centers with great accommodation capacity. It is also halfway between Lisbon and Porto.

The cultivation of the vineyard in the Municipality of Ourém dates back to the epochs prior to the founding of Portugal, XII. The first charter granted to Ourém by D. Teresa - daughter of D. Afonso Henriques, the first king of Portugal - confirms that the vineyard was considered one of the most important crops of this region.
